Job Responsibilities

Do you want to help people achieve a better everyday life? Take the chance to become one of us! We are currently looking for a new colleague for our unit.

The Housing Adaptation Unit processes applications for housing adaptation grants and is responsible for authority functions by examining and deciding on the right to grants. The housing adaptation grant is for individuals with disabilities who need adjustments to stay at home. Today, we are 17 employees in the unit with various competencies and backgrounds, which provides a solid foundation when we discuss issues and solutions for applicants. The unit is in the midst of a change process and is therefore looking for a curious, interested, and solution-focused person for this position.

With us, you will have a varied job with the opportunity to truly make a difference for people with disabilities. In your role, you will process applications and make decisions regarding grants. For example, we decide on grants for door widenings, ramps, elevators, support handles, and safety adaptations.

In your work, you will come into contact with the applicant, healthcare providers, property owners, and contractors. You will also review certificates from healthcare providers. To make the right decisions, guidance is obtained from laws, preparatory works, building legislation, and the current legal situation, which requires legal understanding. As part of your investigative work, you will visit some of the homes that need to be adapted to see possible measures based on the property's construction and the applicant's needs. The extent of the adaptations varies, and you will utilize your problem-solving skills.

With us, you will receive an introduction to the work where your experiences and competencies are at the center.

Qualifications

A relevant university degree is required for the position. Examples of relevant education include social work, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, or training in construction or property management.

We are looking for someone with good IT skills, which is a fundamental requirement for the position. Experience in the construction industry, property management, occupational therapy, or care is an advantage, and experience in authority functions within a politically governed organization is particularly valuable.

The position also requires a valid driver's license as driving may occur in the role.

You are open and engaged with a willingness to share your knowledge and learn from others. We are continuously working to improve the operation, and over the next three years, we will focus on shortening processing times according to a decision from the municipal council.

You have the ability to communicate clearly. You also enjoy problem-solving and working with people from different backgrounds and stages of life. Your ability to collaborate is central to the job as you need to have a lively and learning discussion with your colleagues in the unit. You can organize your work independently and take significant personal responsibility for the progress of your cases.

Welcome with your application!
